How speed works in Steal an Egg
Speed per step = treadmill speed × trail multiplier × Robux speed multiplier
Speed decides which biomes you can reach and whether you can outrun the guardian on the way back. The strongest setup on the wiki, Guardian Treadmill with Moonbloom Trail, gives +170K per step before Robux multipliers.
Steal an Egg speed requirements by biome

| 1 | Forest | Start | Chicken |

| 3 | Desert | 10K | Scorpion |
| 4 | Jungle | 40K | Tiger |
| 5 | Snow | 170K | Yeti |
| 6 | Volcano | 700K | Cerberus |
| 7 | Abyss Ocean | 2.5M | Moby |
| 8 | Prehistoric | 18M | T-Rex |
| 9 | Cosmic | 700M | Cosmic Skeleton |

| 11 | Titan Temple | 7B | Gorilla King |
| 12 | Angels & Demons | 20B | ArchAngel, World Burner, Aetheron |
These are the minimums. A heavy egg slows you down, so carrying a big egg out of a biome needs more speed than the number above. Want to know what a heavy egg is worth? Use the income calculator.

FAQ
How is speed calculated in Steal an Egg?
Each step on a treadmill adds the treadmill's speed × your trail multiplier × your Robux speed multiplier. For example, an Angelic Treadmill (+2K) with a Divine Trail (×14) gives +28K speed per step before any Robux multiplier.
What speed do I need for each biome?
From the wiki: Lake 900, Desert 10K, Jungle 40K, Snow 170K, Volcano 700K, Abyss Ocean 2.5M, Prehistoric 18M, Cosmic 700M, Cherry Blossom 2.5B, Titan Temple 7B, Angels & Demons 20B. Heavy eggs slow you down, so you need more than the listed number to carry a big egg home.
Should I buy a treadmill or a trail first?
Check the upgrade table in the calculator: it shows how many steps each next treadmill or trail saves toward your goal, next to its price. The cheaper upgrade that saves the most steps is usually the better buy.
Do I have to equip a trail?
Yes. Guides note that buying a trail does not apply it; equip it for the multiplier to count.
How long does a step take?
The wiki does not list a step rate, so this calculator counts steps rather than minutes. Time yourself for 10 steps once and multiply.
